Join us on this three-day adventure to North Carolina in our trusty SALTY van. We will drive to Mount Airy, visit the Andy Griffith Museum, and dine downtown at Aunt Bee’s Barbecue, Barney’s Café, or another local diner. We will stay the night near Asheboro and the next day is devoted to the animals. We will enjoy a day at the North Carolina Zoo, the world’s largest natural habitat zoo, home to 1,700 animals of more than 250 species, primarily representing Africa and North America. We will stop at Seagrove to visit the North Carolina Pottery Center and maybe some studios on the way home. Transportation, lodging, breakfasts at the hotel, and admission fees are included. All other meals are on your own. Departure time is 7:30 a.m. Activity level: 4. Deadline to register is August 15. Send a check made out to SALT for the full amount to 1412 Spruce Drive, Surfside Beach, SC 29575. We won't cash it until we have enough participants enrolled to take the trip.
