Located at the mouth of the Cape Fear River, Southport has been a popular location for
the film industry. Founded in 1792 as Smithville, this small town was a
favorite hiding place for pirates. We'll tour Southport, the Maritime Museum,
and the Old Brunswick Jail Museum. Before leaving Southport, we'll drive down
to the waterfront to have lunch on your own. Departure time is 9 a.m. Activity
Level 4.
