Today it is widely known for the world’s tallest building, man-made palm-shaped islands, indoor ski slopes, underwater hotels, and one of the busiest free-trade zones globally. In this talk, Samih shares first-hand reflections on the dramatic changes he witnessed—from his first visit in the mid-1970s to the Dubai he left nearly twenty years later—offering a personal perspective on one of the most remarkable urban transformations of modern times.
